Karen’s "Last" Baked Ziti

After Karen dies, her final ziti sits in the freezer. Bobby can't bring himself to eat it. It sits there like a frozen ghost until Janice Soprano eventually forces the issue.

The Memory: Brown the sausage in a pan. Add the sauce and simmer. Think about how much better life was before Janice got involved.

The Pasta: Boil ziti to al dente. Drain.

The Mix: In a bowl, whip the ricotta, egg, pinch of nutmeg, salt, and pepper.

Assembly: Toss the pasta with the cheese mixture. Add half the meat sauce and half the mozzarella cubes.

Bake: Pour into a baking dish. Top with remaining sauce and mozzarella. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes.
